Welcome to LE Portraits ~ the blog! I started this blog to have a place for people to have a “sneak peek” at their proofs while they are waiting for the whole session to be edited. It is also a place that I can put business information or promotions or just chat with you all. I hope you will check back often to see what is new at LE Portraits. And don’t be afraid to leave a comment - I love hearing what you think about the pictures!

Visit www.leportraits.com for more information and email me through my contact page if you have any questions or suggestions or would like to book a session. LE Portraits is also on facebook so please look me up and become a fan to keep up with all our latest news.

family session in Broken Arrow

September 6th, 2010

I was excited to get to have a session with my aunt, uncle, and cousins this weekend. The whole family was back in town so we took advantage and had a fun time exploring downtown Broken Arrow. I hadn’t been back to BA for quite a while and it has changed so much! We saw my cousins’ old school, so took a picture there, and then visited a couple of parks on Main Street too. Keep in mind that we ARE in Oklahoma, where they wind comes sweepin’ down the plains ;o) I am purposely not showing the best group picture since they will be for Christmas cards and I don’t want to give any surprises away, but wanted to post one of the group ones so you can see the whole fam :) Love you guys! Enjoy your time together this weekend!

Baby D says “Boomer Sooner”

August 28th, 2010

Baby D is already 8 months old and such a happy baby. He was so sweet and tolerated FOUR outfit changes in about 40 minutes with a smile on his face. Amazing! I love getting to see how much he has grown and changed at each of our sessions. He is a little doll. Thanks, guys! Talk to you soon :)

Back to school…and other general fall business

August 8th, 2010

As most of you know, we have chosen to homeschool our three children. Summer has been oh so WONDERFUL but it is back to school for the Everett kiddos tomorrow morning. I just wanted to mention this in case you are calling or emailing during the day….and I am not answering right away. Please leave a message or shoot me an email and I will get back to you as soon as we wrap up the day’s school work. I think the kids pray that the phone will ring during “school hours” so I will get distracted and they can sneak off….not gonna happen this year. I am going to be much more diligent about not answering the phone unless we are finished with our lessons. (Sorry kids!)

Also, I guess here is a good place to mention that I am not planning to do any individual family sessions this fall season (hang in there and keep reading the whole paragraph ;) ). I will continue do to senior, newborn and child sessions (please book early so we don’t miss your milestone!!) but all family sessions will be need to attend a portrait party. As you can imagine, the fall rush for family pictures for Christmas cards and gifts can be very overwhelming. Being a one-woman-show, I have had to make some changes this year in order to do what is best for my family (see previous paragraph about homeschooling!!) so I can, in turn, be the best photographer for your family. I have 7 portrait parties scheduled during September, October, and November that should be able to accommodate all our family sessions. Spaces at each party are limited to 12 families and booked on a first come basis. They will be held in various location around the Tulsa area from Owasso to Glenpool so there will be something for everyone :) Please email me or leave a comment here if you are interested in more information or in having a hostess contact you with any openings at their parties.

I am looking forward to a great fall season and ready for some cooler weather so we can get out and enjoy it! Thank you for being the BEST clients and friends that any photographer could ask for.

Summer Portrait Party

July 26th, 2010

It was a nice, hot evening for our portrait party on Saturday, but I am so glad that so many toughed it out and showed up for the party! We had a great time and got some beautiful pictures. Here are a few from our evening….

My big girl.

July 24th, 2010

My youngest is growing up way too fast! I won a contest from keeperofthehome.org a few weeks ago. It was a huge surprise and I loved all the fabrics they have. I was looking for fabric for some new curtains so thrilled with this win. They also make little girl skirts and my daughter got to pick out her own fabrics and they made it into this adorable little skirt for her. While we were up at Will Rogers Birthplace, I got a few pictures of her too.

All the way from Alabama for a photo shoot :)

July 24th, 2010

Well, really, that isn’t totally true ;) My sister and her family were here in Owasso visiting and we finally made time to do a family shoot for them. It seems that our visits are always so rushed (or the weather is bad) so we never get to do pictures. This time, we made time to go up to Oologah to Will Rogers Birthplace and had a great time making some memories. They left Oklahoma this morning and we are missing them already!

And one more of her kids and mine (who weren’t dressed for pictures so don’t match…but I still like it!).

It is so beautiful up at Will Rogers Birthplace and quite a bit cooler than it is here because of the lake, shade, and breeze. Let me know if you would like to meet there for a session :)

Adorable little one year old.

July 10th, 2010

I was so excited to get to meet this little princess. Her family moved to Texas a couple of years ago and it was fun to catch up with them. They were in town for her 1st birthday and we were able to schedule a session this morning. She is a doll…those curls…those eyes. Just beautiful! Here is a quick sneak peek….and a bonus of her and her brother ;)

Miss T is 9 months old…

June 24th, 2010

And she is just as cute as ever. When I do my baby sessions, it really emphasizes how fast time flies. It seems like just yesterday that I was doing Miss T’s newborn, then 3 month and 6 month sessions and now she is already 9 months old. I always enjoy visiting with this family during our sessions and was sorry to miss seeing big brother T last night. I am looking forward to his 3 year pics soon so we can play :)

Little T was so smiley and having a blast while I was setting up the lights….then I brought out the camera and she made us work for even the hint of a smile. We tried a few outside…but it was TOO hot so we just played around indoors and ended up getting so cute pictures. Here is a sneak peek:

When I saw her dress, I knew the perfect backdrop – I love this picture!

Wearing Mommy’s hat…

I loved how she was always playing with her little toes :)

And then I think she was tired of me….haha…

OK, really, she was blowing raspberries at me…but it turned out funny :) Thanks, guys!

Gorgeous family on a hot summer evening

June 23rd, 2010

This family was so sweet to meet me last night when it was crazy hot out. We were very thankful for some shade at Gilcrease and enjoyed having the entire place to ourselves (I guess the temp scared everyone else away!). We got some beautiful pictures that I hope they will treasure forever! Here are a few sneak peeks :)

You can tell how much these two loved each other. I asked little sister to give big brother a kiss and this is what I snapped. Love it!!

One month old baby girl – Baby “B”

June 2nd, 2010

This little baby was referred to me by the family I posted right before her. They didn’t know they were getting back to back sessions though ;) Baby B was so precious and had me wrapped around her finger at first sight. She was so snuggly and happy and she was such a great little model too – she posed awake and asleep and was such a trooper as we moved her all around.  Thank you guys so much for letting me take her pictures. I am so excited for you guys and can’t wait to watch her grow up. Get ready to ohhhh and ahhhhh….she is a doll!
